John Contino

Mr. Contino is the operator of Sperlinga Advisory LLC, an investment advisory concern in the business of modeling, valuing and analyzing complex structured finance security portfolios. Typical clients include broker-dealers, insurance companies, banks and other investment advisors. His firm also provides litigation support and expert witness services in cases involving complex mortgage securities.

The specific services he has performed for his clients include valuations, purchase / sale “what if” analysis, securitization structuring and bond calls. The firm has analyzed loans under the broad heading of residential mortgage loans, including reperforming and non-performing loans, second lien loans, non-QM loans, timeshare loans among others.

John received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

Patrick Downes

Mr. Downes leads D Capital LLC, and has over 25 years of capital markets experience in US housing, RMBS, REITS, Private Equity, Private Debt, and Direct Lending.

From the beginning of his career at Salomon Brothers he has followed a creative path structuring tactical balance sheet ideas to better manage asset and liabilities for global investors. The latter part of his career was spent building entrepreneurial investment platforms as a co-founder of a "Top 100 hedge funds" (Barron’s 2013), with over $2.5bln in AUM. Since 2015, as Managing Member of D Capital, a strategic advisor for money managers, pensions, endowments, private equity firms and alternative managers.

Patrick received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
